Our Story
Kernow Minds CIC is a newly established community interest company founded by Dr Jemma Reid, Consultant Psychiatrist and founder of Kernow Psychiatry. Our mission is to promote neurodiversity awareness, education, and inclusion across Cornwall — making it a better place for neurodivergent people to live, work, learn, and thrive. We are committed to this mission for the long term — 10% of Kernow Psychiatry's income is donated to Kernow Minds CIC to help fund our work.
Exciting times ahead
We recently held our first community drop-in event and we plan to deliver more community events as well as school workshops, and public engagement activities that help Cornwall understand and embrace neurodivergent thinking.
We are excited to announce that Kernow Minds CIC has been awarded funding from the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) to carry out a community survey on neurodivergence awareness across Cornwall. We want to understand how well neurodivergent people are supported in education, healthcare, business, and sport — and use that evidence to drive real change.
