Reviews

We value the feedback from our clients and strive to provide the best possible care. Your thoughts and experiences matter to us, and we invite you to explore the reviews shared by others to insight into our services.

I thought and felt Dr Reid was very good at asking the right questions and very good at listening. I also felt a strong sense of empathy and genuine understanding of what I struggle with and what I have been through for much of my life. Thank you’.

  • Do I need a GP referral?
You can self-refer to our service. However, once a referral has been accepted into our service we will need to seek information regarding your medical history from your GP. In addition, clinic letters and reports generated from appointments with Kernow Psychiatry will be copied to your GP. This collaboration is to ensure that the care we are delivering continues to be safe and effective.
  • Are my appointments confidential?
Yes. All appointments and contact with Kernow Psychiatry are confidential. The only exception to this is if there is felt to be a significant risk to yourself or others. In these rare situations, we have a duty to share information with other relevant professionals. We will always inform you if your information is to be shared in this way.
  • What happens in my appointment?
The psychiatrist will ask you questions to understand your difficulties. These will include questions about your medical and family history as well as your current problems. At the end of your appointment the psychiatrist will explain the diagnosis (if a diagnosis is appropriate) and the treatment options. If appropriate, you may be given a prescription. For some treatments, we may need to measure your blood pressure and record your weight and height.
  • How long will my appointment be?
An initial assessment is 50 minutes long. Follow-up appointments are 25 minutes. Specialised assessments for ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorder require extended appointments. Fees for all appointments include a written report.
  • Do you offer psychotherapy?
We do not offer psychotherapy or psychological therapy sessions at present. However, we have a network of psychotherapists and psychologists that we work closely with and can signpost you to if this is a recommended part of your treatment plan.
  • What if I need to cancel my appointment?
We require at least 48 hours notice to cancel an appointment. If an appointment is cancelled more than 24 hours in advance but less than 48 hours then a 50% cancellation fee applies. We are not able to refund fees for appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours.
  • What are the fees?
Initial Assessment (50 minutes): £440 Follow-up appointment (25 minutes): £210 ADHD assessment: £580 Autism assessment: £960 All appointments include a diagnostic report (where applicable) or clinic letter. If a prescription is issued this is included within the appointment fee. However, this does not cover the cost of the medication itself. If a prescription is required outside of a booked appointment then there is an additional £75 fee for this.
  • Where will my appointment take place?
Our clinics are currently held at The Wellness Hub in Falmouth. If you prefer an online appointment, this is also possible.
